Jens Baagøe Thomsen
Supreme Court Attorney and Partner specialising in Personal Injury Compensation and Recovery Claims
Jens Baagøe Thomsen has been a part of HjulmandKaptain since 2012.
He works exclusively with personal injury compensation cases. While he primarily represents injured individuals, he also handles a significant number of municipal reimbursement claims relating to sickness benefits, as well as employer recovery claims. His work encompasses legal advice, negotiations, and litigation.
Jens holds a Master of Laws from Aarhus University (2001), was admitted to the Danish Bar in 2004, became a High Court Attorney in 2006, and a Supreme Court Attorney in 2017.
Between 2014 and 2023, Jens also taught the course Advanced Tort Law at Syddansk Universitet.
Jens successfully argued and won the landmark Supreme Court case U.2024.3456H, with a unanimous judgment (5–0). The case concerned the accrual of interest on compensation claims under erstatningsansvarslovens § 16.
